Guitarist, Josh Smith, releases "Inception"

Josh Smith, who many of you have seen touring with Taylor as lead guitarist, has released his 6th studio album - titled "Inception." "Inception" is an all instrumental guitar record featuring a range of styles from Rock to Jazz, Soul and Blues. The album features 11 original compositions by Josh, along with covers of the old Monk standard "Bemsha Swing," and the Ray Charles gem, "Drown in My Own Tears."

Josh has years of experience playing with some incredible musicians and artists. At an early age, he began sitting in with such greats as Jimmy Thackery, Tinsley Ellis, Kenny Neal, Lucky Peterson, Matt “Guitar” Murphy, Johnny “Clyde” Copeland, Double Trouble, Joanna Connor and Kim Simmonds, among others. Jimmy Thackery said of the 14-year-old, “Josh is three heartbreaks away from being a true blues guitar genius.” At just 14, Josh released his first CD, Born Under a Blue Sign. With now over fifteen years of professional experience, Josh continues to successfully challenge himself musically, as it shows in this well-crafted project.

Just listened to the Josh Smith interview. It was great. I didn't realize that Taylor and Josh have the same birthday. I liked hearing about the guitar/harp duels between Taylor and Josh. If you haven't gotten Josh's new album "Inception", you're missing out on some great music.
