AUTOGENOUS TOOTH TRANSPLANTATION PDF EDITOR >> READ ONLINE
Objective. The aim of this study was to investigate whether the growth of soft tissue and bone in children with traumatic tooth loss or agenesis of teeth can be developed reliably, using a new technique of autogenous primary canine transplant. Study Design. Allogenic tooth transplantation refers to tooth grafting between two individuals of the same species whereas autogenic tooth transplantation indicates tooth grafting from one site to another in the same individual. Atkinson reported in the 1970s that an autograft can be orthotopic (when transplanted to the natural location) or heterotopic (when Autogenous tooth transplantation, or autotransplantation, is the surgical movement in one individual of a vital or endodontically treated tooth from its original location in the mouth to another site. 2 Autogenous tooth transplantation was first well documented in 1954 by M.L. Hale. Autotransplantation is the transplantation of organs, tissues, or even particular proteins from one part of the body to another in the same person (auto-meaning "self" in Greek). The autologous tissue (also called autogenous , autogeneic , or autogenic tissue) transplanted by such a procedure is called an autograft or autotransplant . Autogenous tooth transplantation is a practicable treat-ment for tooth loss, being technically easy to perform, with a low incidence of associated morbidity and low cost in comparison with prosthetic rehabilitation and use of dental implants (4). The use of autogenous tooth trans-plantation for patients with agenesis has been reported The uses for replantation and transplantation of teeth are more varied than many would imagine. The fact cannot be denied that enough is now known about these procedures to consider them a part of any dental practice. Long-term results compare favorably with those of other types of therapy, such as fixed prosthetics. After orthodontic treatment, the anatomic crowns were characterized with composite resin. Autogenous tooth transplantation can be performed in the area of the fissure in young cleft palate patients, by performing bone graft augmentation before transplantation of the tooth, to gain sufficient recipient alveolar bone volume. Dental auto?transplantation or autogenous transplantation is defined as the movement of one tooth from one position to another, within the same person.[1,2] This could involve the transfer of impacted, embedded, or erupted teeth into extraction sites or into surgically prepared sockets.[2] The procedure itself is not a Autogenous transplantation is a feasible, fast, and economical option for the treatment of nonsalvageable teeth when a suitable donor tooth is available. This paper presents successful autotransplantation of a mature mandibular left third molar (38) without anatomical variances is used to replace a mandibular left second molar (37). Autogenous tooth transplantation has been discussed and described in the literature previously, with a primary focus on cuspid and bicuspid transplantation. The molar transplant is infrequently discussed in today's literature, possibly because of the preponderance of titanium dental implants.
