Talladega Superspeedway is proud announced that Birmingham (AL) native and National Recording Artist Taylor Hicks, winner of Season 5 of American Idol, will perform the National Anthem prior to Sunday’s Camping World RV Sales 500, the sixth race of the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Championship.

Hicks, known for his incredible soulful vocal style, has been a hot commodity ever since winning Season 5 of the popular FOX singing competition, scoring a No. 1 hit single with “Do I Make You Proud.” In addition, he has put out a platinum-selling self-titled album, and has moved out west to perform a long term residency at Paris Las Vegas.

Taylor's performance of the National Anthem will be broadcast live on ESPN at 1 PM Central. Please check local listings.
