Firewall and Antivirus:

Temporary Disable: It is easy for a firewall and antivirus software to interfere with the connection to the VPN hence try disabling the two and see if they are the cause.  

Configure: If disabling helps, enter the necessary settings into your security software: allow VPN traffic.
